Hi All,

Last year protested against tree axing at Suranjan Das road junction (HAL Main gate signal).
We are not against Development but, We are of the opinion that the project is not well thought. The underpass will not solve the traffic problem. Traffic will be shifted to ISRO/Manipal Hospital junction. We will lose green cover. We want public consultation before axing tree/starting work.
Last year we have put online petition and complaint to the forest department and we succeeded to stop tree axing.

The project seems started and we need to revive our protest and raise our voice again. We have to complain again and protest (if needed).

We again need to come together and protect green cover.

Why is this important?

If tree cutting continues, clouds that form over Bengaluru will never split or burst due to lack of cool atmosphere and the density of clouds will never result in rain.

Bengaluru is already facing water scarcity, and such a tree massacre will only cause more damage than relief.

So, unless we find a way to increase the chances of rains, trees are our only life savers to attract rains.

The ecological damage due to cutting trees is going to be permanent, which in turn will increase the pollution level to much more worrying level, thus damaging the health of the whole society.
